City & Guilds Certificate in Environmental Management

This two day City & Guilds accredited course has been developed to help companies keep abreast of the ever increasing body of legislation and best practice regarding environmental issues.

Key benefits of this course:

The course is normally run in-house, but a number of open course dates are available:

  • 1 & 2 March

Companies based in South Yorkshire with involvement in transport, logistics, distribution or ports can potentially secure 60% funding towards this course (either the open course or an in-house event).

The course provides a practical overview of the management of the main problem areas in terms of the legal requirements and the practical measures which should be taken on-site as a result. Key topics covered:

  • Environmental driving forces

  • Global issues

  • Sustainability

  • Waste management - legislation and best practice

  • Air emissions - legislation and best practice

  • Water & ground management - legislation and best practice

  • Energy management

  • Environmental design

  • Environmental management systems

  • Resource efficiency

Course costs

In-house courses can be run on your premises to minimise staffing disruption and enable real life scenarios within your workplace to be considered during the training. Furthermore, dates and times can of course be tailored to your requirements. The 2 day City & Guilds Certificate in Environmental Management course will typically cost £1,950 + VAT plus £70 + VAT City & Guilds registration and certification fee per person

Open courses:

  • £595 + VAT for the first person

  • £545 + VAT for any additional people from the same company

Funding

Certain companies can obtain 60% funding for City & Guilds courses via North East Lincolnshire Council's Community Learning Services in partnership with Hull Training and Kingsway Consulting, who have secured European Social Fund monies, via the Train To Gain Enhancement Fund, to develop current Employees

Eligible regions:

  • Companies based in South Yorkshire

  • Also, limited funding available for the rest of Yorkshire

Eligible sectors

  • Ports, logistics and distribution sector

  • This could include manufacturers with distribution facilities and others
