Training

Consultancy

  • Retainer services: to provide ongoing advice through occasional site visits coupled with phone / email discussions. The process typically starts with a site review to identify and prioritise key issues. A plan will be developed to enable the addressing of key issues in a cost effective and practical manner.
  • Noise surveys; Alistair undertakes noise surveys, with the provison of recommendations regarding the reduction of noise at source, designation of hearing protection zones and specification of suitable hearing protection.
  • Risk assessments; conducted on a wide range of issues including manual handling, machinery, hazardous substances and fire
  • Site reviews, typically to:
    • Identify relevant legislation and best practice
    • Evaluate the degree to which the site meets these standards
    • Make suggestions for improvement in the form of an action plan
  • Resource efficiency, cleaner design and sustainable practice implementation
Research
Alistair has designed, developed and managed a wide range of research project on environmental issues with budgets from a few thousand pounds to £750k. Key areas of interest are:

  • Resource efficiency
  • Development of benchmarks and best practice advice
  • End-of-life issues: reducing whole life costs for products through the consideration of cleaner design, alternative product service systems, remanufacturing and recycling
